In this case study, we will discuss a project we worked on for a company that had an application and a trading platform. Our responsibility was to extend their engineering team in all aspects, including the backend, frontend, and mobile. Additionally, we were responsible for developing new versions of the application, applying new financial products to the platform, and supporting their customer support operations with a team of people that spoke different languages. The project lasted over 4 years and always using our standard nearshoring model which allowed our client to scale up or down the teams as needed.
The challenge
The client was a financial technology (fintech) company that provided an application and a trading platform to their users. The application allowed users to manage their investments, track their financial portfolios, and trade stocks and other financial instruments. The trading platform provided access to financial markets and allowed users to execute trades.
The client had a large user base and was looking to expand their offering by introducing new financial products and features to their application and platform. However, they were struggling to find the right talent to support their development needs, especially in the areas of backend, frontend, and mobile development. Nextmarkets chose to partner with Velv due to the advanced skillset required for this project. Our ability to provide highly experienced teams and manage them effectively played a crucial role in the success of our collaboration. The technical approach of this project was extremely complex but Velv’s teams successfully addressed every challenge, ultimately helping to deliver an outstanding product.
Approach and solution
We proposed to extend their engineering team with our team of experts in backend, frontend, and mobile development. These teams, divided into backend, frontend and a mobile development team were flexible enough to scale up or down along the during of the project with minimum impact.
Our teams also worked closely with the client's product and engineering teams to understand their requirements and priorities. We followed an agile development methodology and divided the work into sprints. Each sprint was planned, executed, and reviewed with the client's team to ensure that we were meeting their expectations. This processes were completely integrated with our client’s existing ones, and with a few teaks and recommendations from our experts.
One of the first tasks we tackled was to develop a new version of the application that was more user-friendly and intuitive. We worked closely with the client's design team to create wireframes and mockups of the new version, which were reviewed and approved by the client's management team.
Next, we worked on developing new financial products to be added to the platform. We collaborated with the client's product team to understand their requirements and developed a roadmap for the new products. We developed the new products, tested them thoroughly, and deployed them on the platform.
We also worked on improving the performance and scalability of the platform. We optimized the backend infrastructure, implemented caching and load balancing techniques, and enhanced the frontend to make it more responsive and fast.
Lastly, we supported the client's customer support operations by providing a team of people that spoke different languages. This helped the client to provide better support to their users and improve their customer satisfaction.
The result
The project was completed successfully, and the client was very satisfied with the results. The new version of the application was well-received by the users, and the new financial products were a hit with the traders. The platform's performance and scalability were significantly improved, and the customer support team was more efficient in addressing user queries and issues.
